Students will be solving 15 multi-digit multiplication problems in order to help me solve who stole my Halloween candy, what weapon was used, and the location it took place. The list of suspects is Frankenstein, Witch, Mummy, Vampire, Zombie, and Skeleton. The possible weapons used are: Potion, Spooky Bar, Poisoned Apple, Black Widow Cupcake, Spooky Caramel Apple, and Years Old Candy. The locations are: Spiderweb Central, Haunted House, Spooky St, Slime Ave, Haunted Library, and Graveyard.
This activity is great because it also helps with self-assessing. If students do not see their answer on one of the cutouts, then they know that they need to check their multiplication.
