Slope Given Two Points Group Activity

Who doesn't love a group activity that keeps your students engaged!

Slope Given Two Points Group Activity

I always love hidden mystery messages because it keeps my students engaged and excited to reveal the hidden message.  This activity is wonderful for students in groups of 3.  Each group will have a "Student A", "Student B", and "Student C".

Slope Given Two Points Group Activity

Each student will solve their own page that includes 7 problems on slope (determine slope given two points). They will cut out the 7 hexagons and glue them onto the "Hidden Message Page" according to their solution.

Once all 3 students finish, there will be a message revealed. The message will read "2020 IS HERE!!"

This activity is great for self-assessment. In addition, students will working together and seeing the hidden message revealed!
I recommend printing "Student A", "Student B", and "Student C" on different colored paper. It makes it super easy to grade, and it helps students distinguish between their own hexagons.

The Number Line Interactive Poster Board (Christmas Edition)

Interactive Number Line Activity

This resource includes a pdf that contains my interactive number line and christmas borders.
The Number Line Interactive Poster Board Christmas Edition

There are many ways that you can use my interactive number lines. I purchased a 22" x 28" poster board and taped my number lines on it. I laminated the poster and placed velcro sticky back circles on the ornaments so that the number line is interactive!

The Number Line Interactive Poster Board Christmas Edition

This resource can be used in math centers! You can also make multiple of these posters and place them around the classroom.
The Number Line Interactive Poster Board Christmas Edition

Place students in groups and let them determine where to place the fractions on the number line!
You can also print more borders and make a larger bulletin board or door banner! So many options!

Plotting Points in the Coordinate Plane Snowflake Activity (Graphing Points in the Coordinate System)

If you're like me, I love holiday themed activities! I wanted to create a fun winter activity that involved placing students in groups. And here it is!

Plotting Points in the Coordinate Plane (Graphing Points in the Coordinate System)

Students will be plotting points in the coordinate plane. You will need to place students in groups of 4 to complete this activity. There are 4 pages for each group: Partner A, Partner B, Partner C, and Partner D. Each student will plot the given points and connect them with a ruler.

Plotting Points in the Coordinate Plane (Graphing Points in the Coordinate System)

They will color the resulting image. Each student will cut out their graph and place it together with their group members to form a snowflake.

Plotting Points in the Coordinate Plane (Graphing Points in the Coordinate System)

Each group will need markers, colored pencils, or crayons (light blue, dark blue, and purple), rulers, glue, and scissors.
After students construct the snowflake, hang them up on your bulletin board!  Check out my video below!

Middle School Math Early Finishers

I can't tell you how much of a lifesaver my Middle School Math Early Finishers has been in my classroom!

Middle School Math Early Finishers

How many times have you had student's finish an assignment or test, and ended up being too loud?  We always tell our students that they need to pull out a book, sit their silently, or etc.  But honestly, it is often hard for me to sit quietly for a certain amount of time!  So I had an idea about creating something fun but still math related that would be engaging to my students. Voila!

Middle School Math Early Finishers

I always loved word searches, crossword puzzles, coloring by number, and critical thinking problems.  Hence, I decided to take these activities and place them together on a page with 3 activities on each page.

Middle School Math Early Finishers

Students will love finding the math words in the word searches, coloring the provided images, and thinking about how to solve the tricky word problems!

7th Grade Math Number Sense Practice Pointers - 7.NS

Students need lots of practice in order to learn how to solve math problems on their own.  My "Practice Pointers" are a great way for students to practice math concepts and be able to study before a test.

7th Grade Math Number Sense Practice Pointers

The Practice Pointers consist of a booklet that has 3 practice problems for each concept. The "1 pointer" is easiest, "2 pointer" is harder, and the "3 pointer" is the hardest.

Students will need scissors and glue (or stapler) in order to construct the Practice Pointers book.

There are 2 versions: (1) fill-in and (2) answer key. You can decide which version you would rather use.
You can decide if you would rather construct the book all at once, or as you go along with each number sense concept.
I like to print each concept on colored paper so that the page numbers pop and stand out.

Probability / Likelihood Gumball Machine Cut and Paste Activity

My students always love when we start learning about probability and likelihood.  There is something about the random probability of choosing a certain item that intrigues them.  My cut and paste activity involving gumball machines always is a big hit with my students, and allows them to think about the probability or likelihood of randomly choosing a certain color from the gumball machine.

Probability Likelihood of an Event Gumball Activity

Probability Likelihood of an Event Gumball Activity

Students will be cutting and gluing 12 gumball machines according to their probability or likelihood of randomly choosing a gumball. There are 2 versions: (1) Black & white, and (2) Color.

Rounding Decimals Wheel Foldable

I am thrilled to announce that I am creating wheel foldables for 5th grade!  My popular foldables were only available for 6th grade and up, but now I am adding 5th grade ones.  My first 5th grade wheel foldable is on rounding decimals!

Rounding Decimals Wheel Foldable

Solving Two-Step Equations with Visual Representation of a Balance (Modeling)

I can't tell you how many times I have been asked by students "why" they are solving two-step equations by the procedure that we teach them (adding the opposite, and etc).  I decided to make a balance beam activity that shows "why" we add the opposite.

solving two-step equations

Students will be solving 4 problems on two-step equations using visual representation with a balance.

solving two-step equations

They will need 4 coloring supplies (markers, colored pencils, or crayons). I like to use red for negatives, green for positives, brown for "x", and black to cancel out opposites.

There are 4 versions: (1) colored with boxes, (2) colored with no boxes, (3) black & white with boxes, and (4) black & white with no boxes. You can decide which version fits your classroom needs.

5th Grade Math Interactive Notebook

I received many requests to create a 5th grade math interactive notebook that has the same template as my other popular math interactive notebooks.  I have already finished the first two units and I am in love!

5th Grade Math Interactive Notebook

There are 2 pages for each concept. The first page introduces the concept and provides notes. The second page is "Your Turn" where students will perform practice problems, and demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge.

5th Grade Math Interactive Notebook

The notebook will include 5 units. The first two units are already completed and ready to download.
